What a Day at the Challenge Course Looks Like
When you arrive the Lead Facilitator for your group will greet you and get you checked in. After a brief Safety Orientation, we begin your program with a couple of Initiative Games. These games are fun, cooperative, and challenging in which the group is confronted with a specific problem to solve. These games are usually played on the field as a warm up exercise as well as getting your employees to interact with each other and our staff members. Initiative games are not designed to be competitive or to be a race against time. Initiative Games emphasize the more important objectives of leadership, problem solving, communication, self-esteem, trust, etc.
The next phase of the program is the Low Challenge Course. The Low Challenge Course takes place on elements a few feet off the ground and might involve spotters to ensure the safety of individuals. These activities promote learning through experience in a team atmosphere.
Following the Low Challenge Course is the High Challenge Course. The High Challenge Course activities require participants to wear a harness as they will be “On Belay” approximately 25-40′ in the air. With their team’s support, each participant will experience personal challenges. Some potential outcomes are an increase in self-confidence, trust and the realization of the need to rely on others for support.
A Debriefing/Reflection usually follows each activity. The facilitator ensures a thought provoking, safe discussion by asking meaningful questions. The purpose of the debriefing/reflection is to capture meaning and discuss the experience. This is an opportunity to reflect on the experience by identifying and sharing what we learned about ourselves and others. Participants discover meaningful connections between the activity and their own lives, thus increasing the learning. Potential outcomes could include an increase in communication between members of the group or realization of how to be efficient and productive within the group.
Important concepts we want your employees to know about while they are here on the Challenge Course is Challenge By Choice and the Full Value Contract.
Challenge by Choice
Challenge by Choice means that everyone is invited to participate voluntarily in activities and challenges of the program. A participant may choose to sit out , or only do as much as they are comfortable within an activity and this right is to be respected by others of their group.
Full Value Contract
A ropes course experience requires participants to be involved in perceived physical, emotional and social risks. It is
vital that a supportive group atmosphere is developed and that basic, agreed principles of engagement are shared by the group. A Full Value contract is a verbal mutual contract between the leaders and group members and the facilitators that expresses how the group will operate while moving toward its goals. The idea of a “Full Value Contract” is to have a contract that “fully values” each member of the group.

What people are saying
We had such a blast! At first I was a little nervous going up the first platform, but it was so much fun! There were 3 other girls who never zip-lined before and I was the only one that had, and they were all very nervous but at the end said it was some of the most fun they have had in a while. We did the night zip-line and it was so pretty to see all the Christmas lights over the river. I would love to come back in the summer! It was such a great value too, can’t go wrong.
We went there as a team building exercise for work. It was incredibly fun and the staff was great. It was fun to see people outside of their comfort zone and pushing themselves to do things they never thought they could. The staff did an awesome job of helping steer conversation and relating the challenges to our business and how that can improve our day to day operations. We had a great time together, lots of stories to tell and memories that will not soon be forgotten. Our team is stronger for being there. Thanks CLAS!

The Ultimate Team-Building Experience: How Ropes Courses Enhance Team Dynamics and Collaboration
Team building is a critical aspect of creating a successful and high-performing team in any organization. It involves fostering a sense of camaraderie, collaboration, and trust among team members, which ultimately leads to improved performance and productivity. One effective and thrilling way to achieve this is through ropes courses, which are outdoor team-building activities that involve navigating through challenging obstacles such as high ropes, low ropes, and zip lines. Ropes courses provide a unique and experiential learning environment that encourages team members to step out of their comfort zones, work together, and overcome obstacles as a team.
